Claudio Pérez
Photographer
Born in Chile in 1957, Claudio Pérez is a documentary photographer and graphic designer. In 1983 he joined the Association of Independent Photographers (AFI). He has won prizes in several national and foreign competitions (Santiago, Havana, Baghdad). He has taken part in countless exhibitions in Chile and other countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, France, Morocco and Spain. He has also organised exhibitions of Chilean photography in Italy and Chile.
He has received the Victor Hasselblad scholarship from Sweden and has been selected on several occasions for Fondart grants. He has run photography workshops for villagers as part of the Consejo Nacional de la Cultura's Creando Chile en mi Barrio programme. His photographs can be found in public collections, the Tessaloniki Museum in Greece and private collections in Paris and Barcelona. He currently teaches the Reportage and Documentary Workshop and the Professional Workshop I and II at the ARCOS Professional Institute in Santiago.
