Valérie Winckler

Valérie Winckler was part of the Rapho agency, a mythical agency of the humanist current of photography. But she hates being boxed into one category. Trained an an art historian, she conducts several image-based joint research projects: animated pictures (for Canal +, Arte, etc.) documentary photography, where she focuses in particular on the major “passages” of life (birth, retirement, adolescence, death), and also a plastic, abstract photography. An artist with great sensitivity to others, she has very often carried out her image work in an extremely respectful, immersive relationship with her subject, while retaining great aesthetic rigour.
