In the autumn of 2002, as leaves began their descent, Alexandre Deschaumes found himself meandering through forests, embarking on a photographic journey. Without a clear direction, driven by an elusive melancholy and an inner calling, he embraced photography. This became not only a form of catharsis but also an extension of his deep-rooted passion for music, where he ventured into composition and improvisation.

A self-taught artist, Deschaumes honed his vision through his wanderings. His inspirations span a diverse range: from photographers like Ansel Adams and Vincent Munier to the literary and musical realms of H.P Lovecraft, Dead Can Dance, JRR Tolkien, and William Turner.

2009 marked a pivotal year for Deschaumes. He ventured into imparting his knowledge, offering photography workshops and lectures, with a particular focus on the dreamlike interpretation of nature. However, it was in 2011 that his trajectory took a significant turn. He collaborated with filmmaker Mathieu Le Lay, resulting in a year-long project that culminated in the documentary "The Quest for Inspiration". This intimate portrayal, reflecting their combined visions, garnered acclaim, winning several awards.

In 2016, another dream materialized for Deschaumes: the release of his debut book, "Ethereal Journey", an immersive dive into his world, straddling the line between dream and reality.
