Born in 1992, Cendre is a non-binary visual artist based in Saint-Étienne. With a background in ecology, Cendre holds an engineering degree in agronomy as well as a Master's in ecology. Self-taught and highly skilled, the artist's work revolves around multimedia experimentation, including analog photography, video, and ceramics.
Cendre aims to revolutionize our cultural imagination by redefining our relationship with all forms of life. The work explores the intricate connections between humans and the natural world. Cendre's art has been showcased at the Experimental Photography Festival in Barcelona, Les Nuits Photo Festival in Paris, and the Night of the Year in Arles. In 2023, Cendre received the Mentor Award at the Arles session.
