Roland Dufau
Master Printer Colour Master
In the intricate realm of photographic printing, Roland Dufau carved a niche for himself as an unparalleled craftsman. For over two decades, he dedicated himself to the art of Cibachrome Classic printing, mastering the nuances of color like no other. This commitment to excellence made him the go-to printer for some of the most illustrious names in photography, including Gilles Caron, Miguel Rio Branco, Stéphane Duroy, Yan Morvan, Reza, and Olivier Föllmi, to name a few.
However, the winds of change were not kind to Dufau. In 2016, he was compelled to halt his operations due to a shortage of paper, a consequence of the bankruptcy of Ilford Imaging Switzerland. In the twilight of his career, Dufau had pivoted to producing exclusive collector's prints, no longer able to meet the stringent timelines of exhibitions. His legacy, however, remains indelible in the annals of photographic artistry.
